The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball (MLB). It has been contested since 1903 between the champion teams of the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). The winning team, determined through a best-of-seven playoff, is awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy.
2000: Yankees 4, Mets 3 (12 innings)The first game of the Subway Series was scoreless until the sixth, when David Justice put the Yankees up, 2-0, on a double. The Mets came right back in the top of the seventh with three runs on singles from Bubba Trammell and Edgardo Alfonzo to take the lead. The Mets looked set to take the first game of the series heading to the bottom of the ninth, when Armando Benitez got the first batter he faced, but then he walked a batter and allowed two singles to load the bases for Chuck Knoblauch, who tied it on a sacrifice fly. The Yankees ultimately won in the bottom of the 12th on a Jose Vizcaino walk-off single off Turk Wendell. The Yanks went on to win the series in five games, with the Mets’ only win coming in Game 3 at Shea Stadium.

Instead of the random dice-roll feel of old Pokemon games, Arceus shows the differently sized Pokemon out in the wilds, where you can choose how to approach them. I can also choose to run past them as I did with so many battles in Breath of the Wild. The game’s setting, which feels more rustic and meditative than other Pokemon games I’ve played, is made to get lost in.
Pokémon raids, a multiplayer mode returning from Sword and Shield, are now fought against Terastallized Pokémon rather than gigantic Dynamax creatures. Raids are still four-player affairs, and teams can be populated with mediocre NPC trainers if you’re not online; you maximize your chances of success in high-level raids by teaming up with trainers online, whether you choose to run with randos or with a group of friends (we weren’t able to test any online multiplayer features for this review).
I’m not a Pokemon fan, but I like the idea of studying and discovering strange new lifeforms. New Pokemon Snap, which came out last year, was a Disney-like set of on-rails safari tours of wild environments, where you try to spot Pokemon and even catch them in different behaviors. Pokemon Legends: Arceus has some of this same vibe: Missions involve going out and collecting and/or battling Pokemon, but also discovering certain behaviors that you can mark down in a field guide. Arceus is a big RPG, with missions and shops and item-crafting, but the “go research Pokemon” part of the game might end up being my favorite part of it all.
Yet, all is not well in the world of Pokémon. Scarlet and Violet are undeniably fun games, but they suffer from quite a few flaws that can easily be attributed to the game’s open world and uninspired technical ambitions. Millions still want a good Pokémon open-world game, but Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ain’t it. Maybe the series will eventually offer that dream open-world experience, but its struggles to adapt to that genre raise serious questions about what has gone wrong and what, exactly, it is that we think we want from an open-world Pokémon game in the first place.
When your Pokémon is out and engaging in Auto Battles, you can do what you want—stay by its side to watch over it, or try looking for items nearby. By defeating wild Pokémon in Auto Battles, your Pokémon can earn items and Exp. Points!
World geography game
It’s a great game for children and adults. I haven’t spent too much time playing, but from my experience, it’s a fantastic app to get you to know all the countries, capitals, etc of the world. It has an in-game encyclopedia which has information such as the capital, size of country, population, etc. The game is really engaging as there is a leaderboard for all those competitive people like me. To add on, it isn’t overall hard to make you quit from anger and frustration. It has a mix of everything you can want in a geography game, and I strongly recommend this to children, or just anybody that wants to improve their knowledge of the world! Great job developers, keep up the good work! 🙂
This app is really a great app. It’s challenging enough to make me want to keep trying, but it’s not so hard that I get frustrated and bored. It starts out with highlighting a country and from a multiple choice you select which country. Then as you raise in levels the selections get more challenging adding things like, capitols, flags, boarder outlines. But, if you don’t feel like going more difficult, you can customize just how challenging it is. I like this feature so I can focus on improving each bit of knowledge. A feature I really like, when you answer a question, you can get more information where it tells you everything; country, capital, flag, population, country outline, highest elevation, country motto, etc. I especially enjoy clicking on this for countries I know very little about. Doing so has really helped me answer later questions, when I remember flags and capitols.
